Engineers Without Borders

North Dakota State University Chapter

We empower communities to meet their basic human needs.

Our mission as student volunteers is to utilize knowledge gained in the classroom to work with communities on finding appropriate solutions for their most pressing needs. We design, fund, and implement our solutions in these communities to increase their quality of life while creating culturally appropriate sustainability.

-Alena Pringle, Presidential Alumni

“Engineers Without Borders has given me the opportunity to get involved early on in my college experience, all while helping both local and international communities.“

-Paige Sanders, NDSU EWB President

“EWB has provided me with peer and professional mentors that have guided me through my college career. I’m constantly learning more about the engineering process and new cultures while serving alongside my best friends.

Global Projects

                                                                             La Providencia, Guatemala

About 1 hour NE of Guatemala City, the municipality of La Providencia is home to over 400 citizens who live without electricity or running water. Clean, accessible water has been determined to be their greatest need, so NDSU EWB was tasked with providing this resource.

Our chapter is currently in the final stages of approval to implement a 100% student-designed and fundraised water distribution system that will provide safe water to the homes of the community for the next 20 years. Click on the button below to learn more about our current and past projects, and how you can help provide for this community!

Local Outreach

In addition to our projects around the globe, NDSU EWB strives to make an impact locally. We frequently partner with other student organizations and schools in the area to help the F-M region thrive! Click the link below to check out our past and current local projects.
